FSong 14: Singing or acting ?

Hi Ho,
I've had that song in a dusty corner of my blog, waiting for the day. And today seems to be the one ;)

I suppose you know Jacques Brel, and you might even like his music (I know it's weird, but it seems like some do not!).

In any case, have a quick look at him singing, acting, burning so much energy on stage.
There.

If you fancy the studio version... see this.

FPict 6: Publicité

I myself will post an add on this blog. I quite like it, and there are a few one worth having a look. It says "I think, therefore I flee."

FSong 13: Bass, Bass, and Bass

Take 3 giant of funky bass, put 'em togehter, bass in hands, and expect the best, or possibly the worst.

Have a look at this video, and see how much fun can Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller and Victor Wooten have on stage together...

Now, dunno about you, but knowing they actually have an album out together fills me with some sort of joy mixed up with weird anxious expecations? Could that be just as good as I wish it would be?

FSong 12: Paranoid

Hello!
Been a wee while, hey!

Let's dive back 37 years ago, early 70s.
There was this band, Black Sabbath, inventing heavy metal. They will largly inflence the heavy metal wave rising in the 80s, with bands like Metallica.

For your ears as much as your eyes, here is the clip of Paranoid, 1971.

And, well, since I was talking about Metallica, here is Whiplash, my favorite punchy little song from their first album, Kill 'em all (1983).

FSong 11: Gandhi, Gandhi...

On last January, 30th was celebrated the 60th anniversary of the death of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.
On the other side, I've been wanting for a while to fsong my beloved Patti Smith, but simply couldn't decide which song would be appropriate.
Now, see how things are, today's song so happens to be one of my favorite too...

The song, Gandhi, is taken from her album Trampin' (2004). Although I would not mention this album as one of me favorites, I particularly like this one for tons of reasons I will not write about here...

Anyhow,

Patti Smith, Ganhai (2004):

FSong 10: Malia Express !!!

Oh, well, fuck the rules, fuck the norms.
I know I posted FSong 9 just 4 days ago, but I have important news to report here.

Well, you see, 3 reasons for this post:
  • If you know Malia, it's always good for your spirits
  • If you don't, it's time you started
  • And then I learn she's got a new album out
  • And, as a bonus, she's touring - in lyon too (4th of March '08)
That said, I obviously cannot possibly leave you without a taste of Malia, and a couple of links:

Her official web site, www.malia-online.com
Myspace: maliaofficial

The song, Yellow Daffodils, from the album of the same name (2002)

And have a look, at this, the clip from the song "Purple Shoes"
